I love this time of year, the cooler, crisp mornings and the beautiful patches of gold and orange leaves starting to appear.

๐Ÿ‚ Bob the dog, also loves jumping in the piles of leaves! ๐Ÿพ

With the holiday season around the corner, nowโ€™s the time to build healthy habits that will help you stay on track through those festive indulgences.

Here are some tips to get you started on making some more healthier choices as we embrace this new season.

๐Ÿ‚ Start taking a Vitamin D supplement. We get most of our Vitamin D from the sun, so our intake decreases when the weather is colder since we spend most of our time inside during the fall/winter seasons. If you find you are not getting outside much, a Vitamin D supplement can boost your mood and immune system! (I start taking mine at the end of September).

๐Ÿ‚ Embrace Seasonal Foods. Take advantage of autumnโ€™s abundance by adding more seasonal fruits and vegetables to your meals. Think apples, squash, and root veggies. They're packed with nutrients that will support your immune system and energy levels. I love to make big pots of soup at this time of year which is an easy way to meal prep lunches for the week.

๐Ÿ‚ Move in the Cooler Air. Enjoy the crisp autumn weather by getting outside for a walk or jog. Regular movement helps reduce stress, boosts your mood, and keeps your fitness goals on track. Yes the weather is a bit cooler but to quote Billy Connelly, "Get yourself a sexy raincoat and live a little."

๐Ÿ‚ kind to yourself. The shorter days can cause low mood, and the flu season can cause sickness. Listen to your body and give it what it needs, and donโ€™t beat yourself up! Try reframing negative thoughts into positive ones. Now is the perfect time to start up new habits like journaling and meditating to help you feel your best.
